A. Sociological Perspectives

1.b. Compare and contrast the structural functionalist and the conflict perspectives. Shoe your comparison in table form

B. Socialization

2. Create a Life Map showing the important people in your every stage of your life such as birth, toddlerhood, childhood (elementary days), adolescence (high school); college etc. Highlight the significant events that affected the formation of a “SELF CONCEPT” or how you view yourself to be. You may draw the life map and put the text in boxes for every stage.

C. Small groups

3. During the Christmas break, try to observe your interaction with your family, relatives, friends, former classmate, and even people in the mall or places you go to. Write an essay on how people behave in groups. (Approximately two pages single space short bond paper)

D. Social Process

4. Watch “The Last Samurai” (Tom Cruise as lead actor). If the film is not available, you may choose classic films such as Dances with Wolves, Pilipinas, Kapit sa Patalim, Bata bata Paano ka Ginawa, Mano Po Series Or any film that you believe sill show different social processes.

List the social processes and then give the definition and describe each process then cite and describe a scene from the film that you watched and explain how it shows the process.

There are four short assignments but you will submit all four assignment as one homework output. You will submit the printed (hard copy) on January 4, 2010 but email the homework to angsosyoklasrum@yahoo.com and salocinnitsuj@gmail.com on or before January 3, 2010.
